Ewings Sarcoma: |
After a very
long and hard battle Richard lost his fight to Ewings
Sarcoma in September 2008, and now this charity has been
set up by his family to in his memory.
One of the charity's main aims is to raise the much
needed money for children, teenagers and young adults
who are undergoing treatment for Cancer. The money will
be used to treat such people to do something they enjoy,
so that they too can have the experiences they deserve,
making wishes come true. |
RAB |
A malignant
round-cell tumor. It is a rare disease in which cancer
cells are found in the bone or in soft tissue. The most
common areas in which it occurs are the pelvis, the
femur, the humerus, and the ribs.
Ewing sarcoma occurs most frequently in male teenagers,
with a male/female ratio of 1.6:1. Although usually
classified as a bone tumor, Ewing sarcoma can have
characteristics of both mesodermal and ectodermal
origin, making it difficult to classify. |
